Abstract

This article presents Ameur Younès's work on the development of urban and architectural structures in the southern Tunisian Sahel. The result of over ten years of multidisciplinary research, this work documents the region's evolution from Antiquity to the early Middle Ages. The book is structured around an analysis of natural conditions, an inventory of nineteen urban sites, and a comprehensive historical synthesis. Despite the scarcity of written sources, the author draws on geographical and archaeological data to shed light on the legal status and transformation of these cities. This well-documented monograph thus offers a fresh perspective on a territory previously little known to researchers.
