Abstract

This article explores the concept of emotional intelligence, moving beyond the traditional view that opposes reason and emotions. The authors explain that this skill allows us to identify, understand, and manage our own feelings as well as those of others to improve decision-making and social relationships. The text also highlights the crucial role of empathy, while cautioning against the risks of manipulation in a performance-driven society. To cultivate these abilities, practical tools such as journaling and active listening are suggested to promote greater psychological well-being. In conclusion, the work emphasizes the importance of education in preserving these human capacities in the face of toxic external influences.
