Joussour: Journal of Humanities, Arts, Social and Engineering Sciences of the University of Tunis is a peer-reviewed online scholarly journal published annually by the University of Tunis in accordance with the principles of Diamond Open Access (no APCs or publication fees).

History

The journal Joussour was established in 2023 following the approval of the Council of the University of Tunis. It was initially issued in print format with a circulation of 500 copies. Through its annual publication, the journal has contributed to strengthening the outreach of the University of Tunis and to enhancing the visibility and accessibility of the scientific production of Tunisian academics. Prior to the launch of the current electronic version, four issues were published between 2023 and 2025.

The transition to the electronic edition will take place with the publication of the 5th issue in 2026, marking a stronger focus on scholarly articles, including original research papers, surveys, case studies, and review articles.

Aim & Scope

The electronic version of Joussour aims to promote scientific research by providing scholars with an academic platform to publish their work, thereby contributing to the advancement of knowledge globally. The journal places a strong emphasis on originality and scientific quality, addressing academics, experts, and professionals from diverse backgrounds. It is distinguished by a firmly multidisciplinary approach, covering in particular: arts, literature and languages, humanities and social sciences, economics and management, management information systems, as well as science, technology, and engineering.

Target Audience

The journal is published in open access and is intended for a broad community of Tunisian and international readers and contributors, including:

  • Researchers and academics seeking up-to-date scientific information,

  • Teachers and students using the journal as an educational resource,

  • Decision-makers and professionals interested in understanding new scientific trends in order to apply emerging knowledge within their fields of activity.

In addition to faculty members from the University of Tunis, and its institutional partners (such as the Merian Centre for Advanced Studies in the Maghreb, the University of Marburg, and other foreign universities linked through cooperation agreements and cotutelle programs), Joussour seeks to engage a wide community of potential authors from all horizons, including international scholars, experts, and postdoctoral researchers active in the fields of arts, humanities, social sciences, and engineering.
